Iconoclasm 14:05
Arise! Arise! From the gutters that spread as our nerves arise! Untie the Gordian knot wound within our throats And let our voices fill the valleys, chasms and resound Among the highest peaks Unchained and unbound Our hand strikes firm Iron grip with an iron will Clench now the iron fist Ploughshares to swords Redemption was never within our reach For centuries we sought absolution And found only despair Ascend! Ascend! With steady footing and trembling hands we ascend! To take that which was always rightfully ours To rule as emperors, kings and queens of our realms And cut through the very fabric of creation Let our senses hound the stars And our hunger devour their light And sink our thirsting veins In the bottomless ocean depths In search of God we have found Only our own shattered reflection Trauma, sin, guilt and fear And the Devils laughing at our grief Endless, meaningless wordplays We spent generations In trying to decipher Ramblings of demented saints Schizophreniacs and saviors The skin torn from our shins From kneeling before icons We painted of our own aspirations And projected into the heavens Too weary and afraid To comprehend the process And the horrible void therein That we give birth to God and can never truly murder him And above and beyond our own desires Lies nothing but ideas to which we bind ourselves to And thus Nothing is true and everything is permitted So come now and rejoice! For this new aeon is not for the weeping! See the beyond-man arise in the Eastern sun! As its rays wash ashore And carry us beyond the stars! Sailing West towards the azure twilight Our arms extend past The boundaries of our world And our fingers coil around The emptiness therein

It is not in hatred I place this knife upon your chest From the open wounds I conceived a new world For a time it all made sense, if even for a split second For a time it all made sense, if even for a split second My dream is my will And my will is to power I will craft life itself In my own image From the carcasses of deities We will build new temples And foresee our futures From the intestines of their prophets I am the free will of man The scattered pieces Of a broken mirror Reflecting thousands of glaring eyes Beholding one another In malign intent A myriad of horrors Lurking beneath the crackling surface And what is there to hold back now The Devils that crawl within our flesh Like molten lava bursting through The hissing lacerations upon the earth Flocks of locust that spread forth As the harbingers of the days to come Torrents of machine gun fire Amassed artillery and splitting atoms We tried to murder the divine in man And to usurp his throne We encrowned the lowest in us all As if reduced to our instinctual passions Making love to our promethean flame We came to ignore its origin The archetypal conduit to the Empyrean Which ennobles and elevates us Through each shattered vision Is reflected man, pathology and beast The worms that slither through our guts And the hatred that scalds our souls Unshackled from the concept of morality Disjoined from that which exalts us We are gods trapped inside beasts We are gods trapped inside beasts It is not in hatred I sink this knife deep into your heart More so in arrogant despair One day it will all make sense, if even for a split second One day it will all make sense, if even for a split second

about

Axiom (ἀξίωμα) "...is a statement that is so evident or well-established, that it is accepted without controversy or question. As used in modern logic, an axiom is a premise or starting point for reasoning."

Numen "...a spiritual force or influence often identified with a natural object, phenomenon or place."

The Crackling Surface offers the first glimpse to where the Demons Below dwell and man seeks a Reckoning. Inspired by the works of Friedrich Nietzsche, Carl Gustav Jung and Fyodor Dostoevsky, The Crackling Surface is an inspection of man's relation to the idea of divine; the Faustian urge towards iconoclastic apotheosis and the murky waters of relativism past the floodgates that were cast open at der Götterdämmerung...
